Chandler Heart Attack Grill Spokesman Dies

From my home town of Chandler, Az. This story will probably make headlines due to the assumed irony. However it does not appear his death had anything to do with a heart attack.

River, who stood 6-foot-8 and weighed about 575 pounds, gained a measure of fame in the past year as spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill, a west Chandler restaurant that specializes in thick hamburgers and fries. He died on Tuesday at the age of 29.

The cause of death is currently unknown, but friends are speculating that it was the result of his contracting pneumonia after a bout with the flu.

AOL Closes New Mexico Offices

This shouldn’t have really been a surprise after AOL said they are going to a free service model.

AOL announced Wednesday it will lay off 1,300 employees by closing call centers in New Mexico and Arizona as part of a previously announced restructuring plan. AOL, the Time Warner Inc. online unit formerly known as America Online, also plans to sell its call center in Ogden, Utah. The cuts include 900 layoffs at the Albuquerque call center and 400 jobs at the center in Tucson, Ariz., AOL spokesman Nicholas Graham said. The Arizona and New Mexico call centers each have operated for 10 years.

More Computer Problems For The Lab

LANLs is in trouble again. A guy bought a salvaged computer from them that hadn’t been completely erased, unfortunately for them he works at a TV station.

KOB-TV of Albuquerque reported Thursday night that one of its photographers bought an Apple computer several weeks ago. “In the computer … we found documents labeled classified,” KOB reported.A Los Alamos spokesman said there is “little to no chance” classified information is on the computer and the station “misserved the public” and “jumped to erroneous conclusions.”Lab spokesman Jim Fallin said Friday that the computer “never, never would have used or produced classified information, nor was the computer ever in a classified area.”
