People living in Madrid, NM have prevented AT&T (formerly Cingular) from building a cell tower on a ridge overlooking the town. AT&T is, of course, the provider of the Apple iPhone. Personally i’d rather see Madrid get some public toilets before they worry about the cell towers.
They don’t seem like the iPhone types anyhow.
New Mexico Govenor Bill Richardson, who is running for president, has a kinda humorus ad for people in Iowa.
Oh lord, no. I just paid $2.70 a gallon yesterday and $2.50 last week. Albuquerque is usually on the low end of the price scale, but were over the national average lately. So what the fuck, lets talk about $5 a gallon next year. You know it’s coming, prices never go back down.
“Why are they charging higher prices for gas? Because people will pay it. Apparently, we’re not changing our driving habits much,” he said. “Blame this on ourselves. This country has not built a new refinery in 30 years, we stopped new oil exploration . . . and put a moratorium on offshore drilling.”
Of course the oil companies are raking in record profits and not making the refineries or reinvesting. We cannot totally blame ourselves for everything.
Ex-wife I understand, but that he has a girlfriend now. Some people just go too far sometimes and I think this is one of those times.
Willie Windsor, 54, of Phoenix has for several years lived as a full-time baby, wearing frilly dresses, diapers and bonnets, sucking on a pacifier, eating Gerber cuisine, and habitually clutching a rag doll, in a home filled with oversized baby furniture. According to a long Phoenix New Times profile in June, the diaper is not just a prop. Windsor said he worked hard to become incontinent, even chaining the commode shut to avoid temptation, and the reporter admitted feeling “disconcert(ed)” that Windsor might be relieving himself at the very moment he was describing his un-toilet training. Apparently, Windsor’s brother, ex-wife, girlfriend and a neighbor tolerate his lifestyle (though no girlfriend has yet been willing to change his diapers). The “Winchester Mystery House” is the house built by the heiress of the Winchester Gun fortune. It was started in 1884 in northern california. She built the house continuously for 38 years with stair wells that go no where, windows with walls on the other side, all kids of weird stuff. Basically she did it so appease the ghosts of all the people that were killed by the gun.
I went there 3 times.
